My week

In addition to our 3 new team members - Jamie, Charlie and Sadie - we were also joined by Miles last week. He lives in North London but wanted to spend a week learning about the cutting-edge technologies we use at Areca Design. Here's what Miles had to say about his week with us :

"During my week at Areca Design I was fortunate enough to meet an array of friendly characters who each brought to the table a wealth of knowledge covering a variety of fields. I began the week using Unity Pro to create a series of games, having never used this software I was initially felt out of my depth however this was quickly remedied as everyone was more than happy to help and provide guidance, no question was too stupid or too difficult. This assistance helped me to transition from never having coded before to feeling confident in Unity Pro and having a solid base knowledge of coding on which I now have the opportunity to build upon.

Later in the week I was utilising Photoshop and although I had thought of myself as a strong Photoshop user I was able to further develop and vastly improve my use of the software thanks to help and advice from Areca team members. Being present in a professional work environment like Areca Design's allowed me to better understand the work flow and operation of a design company. I was fortunate enough to have staff share with me current and former projects Areca had produced. This provided me an insight into working relationships with clients and an understanding of where the design industry is headed due to the team's use of cutting edge technologies and software¹s such as consumer ready Augmented Reality.

My time at was Areca Design extremely helpful and enjoyable and I have left with no doubt that I have gained knowledge that will be of great service to me in the future. I would wholeheartedly recommend that anyone who seeks to work in any sort of design or web development company in the future snatch at the opportunity to work with Areca Design if they get the chance."

Thanks Miles - you're welcome back anytime!
