Go-karting event helps to raise over £1,400 for Charity
Last week the Areca Design team took to the tracks with Hayward Wright and a host of familiar business faces in aid of Megan Baker House. The event, held on Thursday 17th October was a great success, raising over £1,400 for the charity.
Megan Baker House is a charity specializing in providing free Conductive Education services for children, teenagers and adults with special educational needs and physical disabilities.
The 18 teams, with 3-4 team members, took part in a 2-hour endurance race around the track, each racing to achieve their place on the podium. There was some great driving skills to behold, and some even better collisions, as the teams battled their way around the course.
With two endurance races taking place during the day, the two first-place trophies were awarded to HSBC and E-Response. For Areca Design, it was ‘last but not least’, as the team perfectly maintained their position of last place throughout the race, all intentional of course :-), and gained the ‘wooden spoon’. Prizes were awarded by Alistair Druett from Hayward Wright, who thanked drivers for a very enjoyable day, and most importantly a very successful one!
