Get your E-commerce website right

Before COVID-19 your business may have been successfully operating without any need for an e-commerce website. However, due to the pandemic consumer buyer behaviours have now changed with more and more people spending money online.

This fact simply highlights the importance of having a e-commerce website  for your business but also the importance of getting it right.

Here are our top tips for your e-commerce website;

1. Avoid too much clutter

Make your e-commerce website simple and clean. People need to be able to see your products clearly and in the best light. Make sure any call to action buttons such as ‘buy now’ are clear to the customer visiting your site. If they are not, then people will not know how to purchase your products.

2. Include a search bar

This is extremely important especially if you have a large amount of products on your site. Ensure people can get to what they are looking for in the quickest way possible. This will encourage customers to buy from you instead of leaving your website and purchasing from else where.

3. Set up automated abandonment basket emails

A great way to generate more sales is to remind people what they added to their basket but didn’t actually purchase. You know the user is interested in the product, they just didn’t purchase right away. A great way to make the sale is to add a 10% discount code for that product into your abandoned basket email.

4. Ensure your website accepts as many payment options as possible

Not everyone will want to pay with a VISA or MasterCard. Ensure you have as many ways to pay as possible including PayPal and ApplePay. This will enable as many people as possible can purchase from you site.
