Areca Design Colleagues Raise Funds For 10,000ft Charity Skydive
Swapping the computer screen for sunny skies, one of our colleagues, supported by Areca Design, will take part in a Charity Skydive, to raise funds for Beat – The UK’s Eating Disorder Charity.
On the 1st August, Laura will be leaping from a plane at 10,000 feet, in a tandem skydive, to raise money and awareness for the cause. Beat charity was chosen, as it is one close to Laura’s heart, having a family member suffering with a severe eating disorder for many years.
Beat is the UK’s Leading Charity, supporting anyone affected by eating disorders or difficulties with food, weight and shape. In an aim to support those suffering with a mental illness, such as an eating disorder, Beat provide a range of services including Helplines, Message Boards, Treatment Finders, Online Support Groups, Peer Support Groups and Regional Projects.
With just two weeks to go until the Charity Skydive, Laura is determined to raise as much as possible for Beat. Laura said: “I wanted to do something different to support my cousin, who is currently suffering with an eating disorder. I felt like a skydive would be a really unique challenge and an opportunity to fundraise for the charity."
"I hope to raise awareness of the impact that eating disorders can have on those affected and how vital it is to seek additional support and guidance from experts, such as Beat and specialist mental health professionals.”
